36” X 18” Pet Screen (Home Depot or screen door repair store.
36” beaded tape or sequins
Fabric about 10” X 36” for bag & 2-½” X 36” for top binding.
Fabric for handles.
“Binding” for the top to cover the edge of the
pet screening.

Strip of beads/tape or sequins.

Strip of fabric 10" X 36” long.

Place about 3” up from the bottom edge.
1.        Cut the Pet Screen 18” X 36”
2.        Cut large fabric about 10” X 36”.  Fold ¼” to the back on each long side and press.
3.        Measure about 3” up from the bottom of the Pet screen and top stitch the large fabric on to the screen.
4.        Cut top edge binding fabric about 2-½”  X 36”.  Press ¼” under on each long side then fold binding in
        half lengthwise, wrong sides together, and press.
5.        Fold over the top edge of the screen for a 1” binding and top stitch.
6.        If you want beads or sequins between the top binding and the large fabric, sew on.
7.        To make bag, fold in half, right sides together and sew the side and bottom with a ¼” to ½” seam.
8.        Mark the bottom corners about 4” across and sew on marking.
9.        Turn bag right-side-out.
10.       If you want to define the bottom edge and the side edges, you can topstitch each edge.
11.       Decide on the length of handles you want, then sew them on.
7. Fold: right sides together.  Sew side and bottom seam
to make into bag.
You can topstitch the edges to make a “shopping
bag” style or a just topstitch the bottom edge and
make a “barrel” style.
8. With bag
inside out, pull
bottom corners
out to points and
stitch across at 4”
